Caroline Bay Camp Ground

Camping

Access to the overnight camp ground is off Marine Parade.

Caroline Bay is Timaru's premier park offering an enormous variety of activities, for more information please visit our Caroline Bay page.

The camp site is right on the edge of the beach, ideal for an evening's stroll along the boardwalks or the beach itself.  From Marine Parade you can watch the Little Penguin (Kororā)  coming ashore at dusk.  The Little Penguin is the smallest species of penguin, at full stretch (35-43 cms) they're not much taller than a rugby ball standing on end.

It's only a short walk into town and to the Bay Hill.  Simply head for the 'big steps' or lift which will take you up to The Piazza, The Bay Hill and Stafford Street where we have a plethora of bars and restaurants.

The Port of Timaru is a busy place at night,  light sleepers may want some earplugs.

Self Contained Campervans only.

Maximum stay 3 nights (please arrive after 4pm and leave before 10am)
