A by-election is required to fill an extraordinary vacancy for the Geraldine Licensing Trust.  

Nominations

Nominations for the above position open on Monday 13 March 2017 and must be made on the appropriate nomination paper. This is available below or from the following locations:

Completed nomination documents must be received by the Electoral Officer no later than 12 noon on Monday 10 April 2017. Each nomination must be accompanied by a deposit of $200 incl GST, payable by eftpos, cash, cheque or online banking (See Candidate Information for details).

Candidates may submit a candidate profile statement and recent photograph for sending out with voting documents to electors, if an election is required.  The requirements for profile statements and photos are set out in the candidate information booklet .

All nomination documents must be lodged together (i.e. nomination paper, candidate profile, photo, and deposit). Candidates should refer to the candidate information for further details.

Electoral Roll

A Preliminary Electoral Roll for the above by-election can be inspected at the above-mentioned Service Centres during normal office hours from 13 March 2017 to 10 April 2017.  Electors may enrol or amend their enrolment details on the Residential Electoral Roll by:

  • Completing an enrolment form available at Post Shops
  • Calling 0800 ENROL NOW (0800 36 76 56)
  • Visiting the Elections website (www.elections.org.nz)

Updates to the Preliminary Electoral Roll close at 5pm on Monday 10 April 2017.

Election Details

In the event that an election is required for this vacancy, it will be conducted by postal voting under the First Past the Post electoral system.  The voting period will be from Monday 15 May 2017 to 12 Noon, Tuesday 6 June 2017. Should an election be required, the date of the election will be Tuesday 6 June 2017.
