SWIMMING POOLS AND SPA POOLS

The operation of public/school swimming pools and public/commercial spa pools are issues that Council is obliged to monitor due to its responsibilities under the Local Government Act and Health Act. Pools are inspected regularly to ensure public health is not at risk.

Council has adopted a Health Protection Bylaw to assist in preventing the transfer of communicable diseases and infections in Public swimming and Spa Pool facilities. The Environmental Health Unit has also developed brochures to assist with management of pools:
