The District Licensing Agency
The Timaru District Council has delegated its functions under
the Sale of Liquor Act 1989 to a subcommittee that comprises
three Councillors and the Mayor. The Mayor is the chairman
of the committee.
A Deputy Chairman is to be appointed by the committee The
duties of the Secretary are carried out under delegated authority
by the Group Manager Planning and Regulation and the District
Licensing Agency activities are carried out within the Planning
and Regulation Group of the Timaru District Council.

The Environmental Health Manager is appointed Senior Licensing
Inspector and is responsible for licensing inspection functions
including reports and enforcement requirements of the legislation.
Council's Environmental Health Officers are appointed as
Licensing Inspectors pursuant to the Act and report on all
applications for licences, manager's certificates and renewals.
