Application Form For Services

A Service Application is required for all works carried out associated with Council owned asset systems including:

  • Public Water Supplies
  • Public Sewer Systems
  • Public Stormwater Systems
  • Any work affecting Roads and Footpaths (including berms)

Application for Services

A Service Application is a separate issue from Resource Consent or Building Consent matters. Approval of a Resource Consent or Building Consent does not imply automatic approval of a Service Application.

Approved Contractors

Specific works, carried out within the Timaru District Council area, are permitted to be carried out by Approved Contractors only.

Details of the works, permitted to be carried out by these approved contractors only are listed below:-

New connections to public water services
New connections to public sewer system
New connections to public stormwater system
Installation of new water or drainage reticulation to be taken over by Council e.g. part of a  subdivision
All accessways to private property e.g. kerb and channel, modified crossings, rural accessways.

Construction Standard Specifications

These specifications set out the Timaru District Council technical requirements for the construction of Roading, Drainage and Water Assets undertaken both on behalf of Timaru District Council or that are intended to be taken over or maintained by Timaru District Council. Construction of assets which are outside the scope of these specifications will require specific approval from the Timaru District Council.
