Passionate about Governance? We are seeking expressions from enthusiastic and experienced Governance professionals to join our highly effective Strategy and Corporate Planning Team.
Providing high level secretarial support and governance advice to our Mayor, Elected and Community Board Members and Council staff, you will have a strong understanding of formal protocols, statutory obligations and Standing Orders for Council, Community Board and Committee meetings.
You will need to understand the importance of getting it right and your meticulous attention to detail will be second to none. This position requires you to listen to complex discussions, ensuring that key information is captured accurately.
No day is the same in this busy role! You’ll be the go-to person for all things agenda related, effectively administering and supporting colleagues with the use of our Agenda Management and Distribution System.
To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to learn or can bring an:
- Ability to plan and prioritise effectively, meet deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
- Understanding of the Local Government Act 2002 and Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act
- Ability to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Diplomatic attitude
