Seaweek runs from Saturday the 6th of March to Sunday the 14th of March 2021.
Seaweek is organised by New Zealand Association for Environmental Education (NZAEE). The aim is to educate people about the ocean and celebrate the connection between humans and the sea.
Over Seaweek The Timaru District Council, Environment Canterbury and Mediaworks present a programme of activities that will help people think about the ocean and how their actions might impact it.
Spend time at the Aigantighe Art Gallery where the ocean has inspired the work of Elizabeth Thomson, or an evening at the Otipua/Saltwater Creek Catchment Group to learn how our urban waterways impact the ocean. Head down to Caroline Bay to take part in The Breeze Big Beach Dig or visit the Library on Sunday for a Eco-friendly Charity Car Wash. There will also be the opportunity to win prizes across the week!
