Lets Connect event a big hit with Temuka agencies

#CULTURE + LIFESTYLE

Not your ordinary networking event on Tuesday November 21, the Community Development team facilitated a ‘Let’s Connect’ networking event in Temuka.

This enabled organisations, agencies, community services and individuals to come together and get to know what services are available in Temuka.

With 25 registrations from local community board members, the Temuka library, church representatives to the local MP, the ‘speed dating’ format of the event meant that attendees got to meet face-to-face and learn about what each other does in the community.

"We wanted to bring together agencies, organisations and community services in Temuka to connect and get to know each other and the services they provide. This not only benefits those in attendance, but the communities that they provide support for,"  Community Experience Manager Claire Barlow said.

The event was well received with lots of fantastic conversations and connections made, as well as the all-important swapping of business cards. The community development team has now set their sights on a similar event to be held in Geraldine in 2024.

"Connection and collaboration of our community services falls under two key priorities in our Safer Communities strategy; empowering a collaborative community that promotes wellbeing and social connectedness, and optimising pathways and opportunities for the community to thrive," Claire said.
