Insects dress ups

This is a co-lab with the Timaru Library who are creating insects for their holiday craft. Bring your insect over and dress up in an insect costume for a matching photo

Other Activities

  • Join our Museum Explorers’ Club
  • The Horsey game is back (a penny game) – complete a quiz or hire a penny for 50 cents
  • Find the Golden Frog and go in the draw to win a prize at the end of the holidays!
  • Count the rugby balls or rugby jerseys hidden around the Museum and go into the prize draw!
  • Complete a museum quiz!
  • Get a closer look at the Herstory
  • Collect the new Explorer’s badge!

Aiganitghe Art Gallery have a pop up in the Main Street!

Visit the Aigantighe team at the Rotary Club of North Canterbury Artarama pop up at 278 Stafford Street (the old Unichem Pharmacy Builiding).

Check out the 400 artworks by 20 schools on display in the heart of the town and make your own art with our art stations on site!

Get your colouring pencils out!

Welcoming Week maybe over but the fun continues! Get your favourite colours out and make your coolest picture, hand it back to one of our facilities and go into win a VIP movies Pass thanks to Movie Max Timaru! We have extended the end date of the competition until the end of the School Holidays.

There are four VIP Movie Max Tickets and a $50 Prezzy Card per age group for:  0-4 years, 5 - 6 years, 7-9 years and 10 - 16 years.
