Geraldine Stormwater - Waihi Outfall and Overland Flow Path

26 Sep 2023

#INFRASTRUCTURE MATTERS

The Timaru District Council water team is upgrading the size of the stormwater main which connects to the Waihi River outfall, behind 117 Talbot Street. This upgrade is needed so we can convey a higher level of stormwater runoff. This should help reduce flooding issues downstream of the swale which affects properties adjacent to the Talbot / Huffey Streets intersection.

This work is part one of a three-stage Geraldine stormwater main project to upgrade the downstream network so it can accept additional stormwater flow from the Hislop Street catchment.

Works will commence approximately 26 September 2023 with an expected duration of six weeks, concluding by mid-November 2023.

We thank the Geraldine community in advance for your patience while this work commences.
