Grants Road, Timaru

Where:

#9 Grants Road to the Evans Street intersection.

When:

The road closure will be in place from 7:00 am Monday, May 5, 2025, until approximately 6:00 pm Friday, May 9, 2025.

Why:

This closure is required to allow the contractor to install a new manhole and complete water connections to properties as part of the Evans Street water main project.

Additional information/Disruption:

  • Residents' access will be maintained.
  • Detours will be put in place to help guide road users.

Fraser Street, Timaru Port

Where:

Fraser Street from Richie Street to Stuart Street.

When:

Due to the adverse weather we experienced, the resurfacing work at this location had been delayed. Work is now scheduled start on Monday, May 5, 2025, and is expected to be completed by Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Work will take place overnight, daily, between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Road resurfacing

Additional information/Disruption:

  • The section of road will be closed while work is underway. Accommodations have been made for businesses in the area.

Wooding Road, Woodbury

Where:

Wooding Road between McKeown Road and Mees Road. This work will be done in stages and is outlined in the map below.

#36 Matai Crescent to Chaucer Street intersection

When:

The road closure will be in place from 7:00 am Wednesday, May 7, 2025, until approximately 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 8, 2025.

Why:

Water services repairs

Additional information/Disruption:

  • Residents' access will be maintained.
  • Detours will be put in place to help guide road users.

Lukeys Lane & Ranui Ave, Timaru

Where:

Lukeys Lane will be closed from #11A to #9 Grasmere Street. In addition, Ranui Avenue from approximately #50A to #54.

When:

Lukeys Lane: Will be closed from 7:00 AM on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, until approximately 6:00 PM on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. However, the lane will reopen over the weekend.

Ranui Ave: Will be closed on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 7:00 am until approximately 1:00 pm.

Why:

Due to the recent adverse weather conditions, there has been a delay in the stormwater upgrade works. The revised dates account for the time lost as a result.

Fraser Road, Timaru

Where:

Fraser Road, between Bassett Road and Brockley Road.

When:

The road closure will be in place on Thursday, May 8, 2025, and Friday, May 9, 2025, between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Why:

Two culvert replacements

Additional information/Disruption:

  • Residents' access will be maintained.
  • Detours will be put in place to help guide road users; this detour can cause a delay of up to 15 minutes.
