Here are the upcoming planned road closures straight from the Land Transport Department for the week starting from October 13

Road Closure: Ward Road, Temuka

Where: Ward Road, Temuka from Milford Clandeboye Road to the end of the road.

When:  The closure will be in place from 6:00 am to 8:00pm on Tuesday, October 14, and Wednesday October 15, 2025.

Why: Overhead power maintenance.

Road Closure: Jackson Street, Timaru

Where: Jackson Street, from Wilson Street to Le Cren Street

When: The closure will be in place from approximately 6:00am to 8:00pm on Thursday, October 16, 2025. If the weather does not allow for the work to take place, it will be postponed to the following day.

Why:  Electrical maintenance

Road Closure: South Street, Timaru

Where: South Street, from approximately #9 to # 15.

When: The closure will be in place from 7:00 am to 6:00pm daily between Friday, October 17 to Friday, October 24, 2025.

Why: Service Connections and driveway construction.

Road Closure: John Street, Alexandra Street & Bridge Street, Temuka

Where:

John Street – From Denmark Street to #57 John Street,

Bridge Street and Alexandra Street from Shaw Street to John Street.

When:  From 6:00 am to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 13, 2025.

Why:  Replacement of power poles and line maintenance

Road Closure: Pleasant Valley Road, Geraldine

Where: Pleasant Valley Road, from McKeown Road to Craig Road.

When: The closure will be in place from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm daily, between Monday, October 13 and Friday, October 31, 2025.

Why:  Essential road maintenance

Road Closure: Clyne Road, Temuka

Where: Clyne Road, near the Boiling Down Road intersection

When:  The closure will be in place from approximately 7:00 am on Monday, October 13 until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

Why:  Culvert replacement.

Road Closed: Resurfacing Programme

The following roads/streets are scheduled for chip sealing during the week, with road closures in place while work is carried out. In most cases, with each site takes 1–3 days to complete, depending on the length of road.
