Here are the upcoming planned road closures straight from the Land Transport Department for the week starting from September 29.

Road Closure: Rangitata Island Road, Rangitata

Where: Rangitata Island Road extending past Old Main South Road and Brodie Road Intersection.

When: The closure will be in place daily from Monday September 29, 2025, until Tuesday November 14, 2025. Working hours will be between 7am and 5pm.

Why: Road reconstruction

Road Closure: Rimu Street, Kowhai Street, Puriri Street, Timaru

Where:

Rimu Street between #31 and #37

Puriri Street between #25 and #33

Kowhai Street between #18 and #24

When: The closure will take place on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. Each closure will reopen once the work is complete.

Why: Power pole removal.

Road Closure: Hayhurst Street, Temuka

Where: Hayhurst Street from Domain Avenue to Denmark Street.

When: The closure will be in place daily from Wednesday October 1, 2025, and Thursday October 2, 2025. Working hours will be between 6am and 8pm.

Why:  Power pole and line upgrades
