Community Funding

Projects that Can be Funded

Community Development Fund

Applicants can be Community organisations with a formal legal structure or not-for profit organisations

This fund supports initiatives that enhance the quality of life in communities

Up to $30,000.00 per application; subject to availability

There are two rounds per year in April and October

Community Local Event Fund

Applicants can be Community organisations with a formal legal structure, including incorporated society, trust, and companies

This fund is designed for one-off community-empowering events located in the Timaru District

Up to $10,000 per application

There are two rounds per year in April and October

Quick Response Fund

Applicants can be individuals or community groups with applications that are community-focused projects that contribute to the strengthening of community wellbeing in the Timaru District

The purpose of this fund is to assist community groups with situations that fall outside the normal funding rounds or are emergencies or unforeseen.

Up to $500.00 per application

This fund is open until the maximum allocation of $3000.00 per annum has been reached

*The Quick Response Fund is now closed until 1 July 2025 as the maximum allocation has been reached

New Zealand Representative Fund

Applicants can be individuals or community groups

This fund supports individuals or groups who have been selected or have qualified to represent New Zealand at an international event

Up to $500.00 per application

This fund is open continuously
