Community

What is the Pleasant Point Strategic Plan?

In October 2023 the Pleasant Point Community Board adopted the Pleasant Point, Cave and Surrounding Areas Ten Year Strategic Framework 2023 - 2033.

Developed through community consultation between 2022 – 2023 and generating over 500 responses, the strategic framework sets out the Community Vision with a series of projects that seek to retain and improve the current lifestyle of the community over the next ten years.

What direction does the plan set?

In order for the Pleasant Point and surrounds community to address what is important to them, the strategic framework has outlined eight Objectives across Values of “Collaboration and Partnership”, “Capability and Resilience”, and “Transparency and Inclusion”.

The key objectives that underpin the strategic framework are:

  1. Ensure that local events and businesses are sustainable and well supported.
  2. Retain, maintain and enhance local infrastructure, facilities and amenities.
  3. Retain or improve connection with the wider District.
  4. Protect the pleasant residential character and rural landscapes.
  5. Create a resilient safe and secure community (town and country).
  6. Maintain and grow community participation and connection.
  7. Promote local history and identity.

Protect the rural and small-town economy and ensure sustainability.

How do we move in the right direction?

To move forward on the Community Vision, Objectives and Values identified, the plan outlines a series of Priority Outcomes to strive toward over the next ten years:
