Camping - the most Kiwi pastime and an activity we treasure in the Timaru District. We have some of the most beautiful camping sites in the country and invite all visitors and locals to camp responsibly and to enjoy the best of our great outdoors.

Arundel Bridge

Location: Bridge Street, Arundel, Inland Scenic Route H72 .


Caroline Bay

Location: Marine Parade, off Port Loop Road, Timaru.

Facilities: Toilets, dump station, rubbish and recycling bins, water, sealed car park, outdoor shower, recreation facilities,

Milford Lagoon

Location: Davey Road, off Milford Lagoon Road, (8km east of Temuka).

Facilities: Toilet, rubbish bins, picnic table

O’Neil’s Reserve:

Location: Pleasant Point-Cave Highway (3km East of Cave).

Facilities: Toilet, picnic tables

Orari River Mouth

Location: Parke Road, off Clandbeboye Settlement Road.

Facilities: Toilet, rubbish bins, picnic tables

Patiti Point

Location: South Street, Timaru

Facilities: Rubbish bins, BBQ, sealed carpark,

Te Moana Gorge Camp Sites

Location: Te Moana Road (12km north-west of Geraldine).

Facilities: Toilets, rubbish bins, picnic tables

Waitohi Bush

Location: Corner Gully Bush Road and Galbraith Road, (16km west of Temuka)

Facilities: Toilet, water, BBQ, picnic table

Winchester Bridge

Location: Corner Winchester-Geraldine Road and Ferrier Road, Winchester.

Facilities: Toilet, water, picnic table, rubbish bin
