The Trustpower Timaru District Community Awards Ceremony was held on Tuesday 5 July in recognition of voluntary group service to the district. The Mayor and Simon Darmody, from Trustpower, congratulated all recipients for their invaluable contribution to the community
Supreme winner:
Timaru Bike Polo received the Supreme Award and will now be representing the district at the National Awards in Rotorua in March 2017.

Winner: Timaru Bike Polo
Runner-up: South Canterbury Mountain Bike
Educational and Child / Youth Development:
Joint Winners: South Canterbury Life Education Trust and English Language Partners Aoraki and Mid
Youth Spirit Award:
Joint Winners: Emily McBride, Opihi College, and Annabel Mulligan, Geraldine High School
