Council Staff are taking up the baton for the Cancer Society this year, holding a Relay for Life around Timaru Library.

As the formal Relay for Life is not taking place this year, from 8am-6pm council staff will be taking part in a relay around the library, raising money for the Cancer Society, which works to reduce the incidence of Cancer in New Zealand, and the impact on those diagnosed with Cancer.

At least one staff member will be walking the loop around Sophia, Bank and Church Streets with the mayor and elected members joining the relay throughout the day.

A charity bake sale will also be held outside the library, with all proceeds going to the Cancer Society.

Everyone is welcome to join the relay, make a donation or come and buy a tasty treat from the bake sale!

If you can’t make it in person, you can support the TDC Relay team online here: https://www.relayforlife.org.nz/t/timarudistrictcouncil
