You only have one week left to have their say in the drafting of the Long Term Plan 2018 – 28.

The Timaru District Council is underway with its preparation of the Long Term Plan 2018 – 28 “Our Place, Our Future” Council is asking people to have their say – about the kind of facilities and services  they think the district will need in the future, how these should be funded, and anything else residents think is important for the future of our district.

A survey was launched last week, with copies distributed to every household, and it is also available online at timaru.govt.nz.

Mayor Damon Odey is urging people to get involved. “We’ve had close to 100 responses during this first week of the survey.

“There’s only a week to go and your Councillors really want to hear what you think at this early stage in the process, as this is one of the best ways to help influence the drafting of the new plan.

“So please – take ten  minutes and complete the survey. Input from our community is vital to help us as we plan for the future.”

The survey runs until Friday 18 August.  The results of the survey are reported to Council and used to help develop the 2018 – 2028 LTP.

The easiest way to complete the survey is online at www.timaru.govt.nz. Hard copies of the survey can also be picked up from the Council Building, and its Libraries and Service Centres in Geraldine and Temuka.
